When the Bishops couldn't find a new home to buy, they engaged Warkworth Construction to transform the home they were already living in.

The original farmhouse, on Tawharanui Peninsula, underwent an extension and major renovation including new: roof (see photo at the top of this page showing old tile and new coloursteel roofs), raised ceilings, oak flooring, joinery and double glazed windows, kitchen, bathrooms, decking, stairs, balustrades, and fireplaces - inside and out.

Removal of the old water tank under the house made way for a wine cellar and pool room, and two new water tanks were installed.

The result is an impressive home and resort-style pool which the family will continue to enjoy and make memories in for years to come.

Showpiece Omaha

Our latest project is this showpiece two level house built in Omaha, designed by Sayes Jackson Architects.

Black steel, hardie cement sheeting and blonded cedar come together brilliantly on the exterior. Inside, again rugged materials including stone, steel and concrete are balanced and softened by natural tones in the timber flooring and floor to ceiling built-in custom cabinetry as well as beautiful lighting.

The home has an elegant minimal feel yet every detail has been thought of in the mixed use of materials and high end finishes. Other features include huge over-sized windows and sliders plus a dramatic floating stairwell and bespoke steel balustrade.

We are proud to see The Matakana Village pub showcased in the latest Defign magazine - Warkworth Construction oversaw the extensive renovations of this historic building following Peter Were's architectural plans.

Congratulations to Peter Were Architecture and Interiors who won the Commercial Interior award for their design work on the Matakana Village Pub, at the Auckland and Northland 2015 ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards. Warkworth Construction Ltd, oversaw the renovations of the pub following the architectural plans.

The project turned the once-bedraggled village eyesore into a landmark destination. The refurbishment features a completely rebuilt commercial kitchen and bathroom facilities, a dining room and a re-energised garden bar.

Kyle attributes the success of the project to understanding the client's requirements, the architect’s vision of retaining the character and integrity of the old pub, and the subcontractors' delivery of quality work.

We are pleased to announce that our talented apprentice, Aaron Butler, has had the honour of being invited to take part in the Registered Master Builders Carters 2015 Apprentice of the Year competition.

The aim of the awards is to recognise excellence among carpentry apprentices, celebrate industry training and recognise the employers that contribute to it.
